Seasonal Variation in Fatty Acid and Amino Acid Composition of the Patagonian Marine Polychaete Abarenicola pusilla and Its By-Products

This study aims to provide a quantitative analysis of the amino acids (AAs) and fatty (FAs) found in by-products Patagonian marine polychaete Abarenicola pusilla. Samples polychaetes were taken different seasons processed generate three by-products: eviscerated whole body, press cake, liquid. The results showed clear seasonal difference, with essential nutrients decreasing significantly winter. For example, from body specimens, acids, eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), arachidonic (ARA) maintained relationship 1 summer, 1.24 winter, 1.5 spring autumn. In comparison, docosahexaenoic (DHA) was undetected some extracts However, content liquid resulted high variation, lowest during contrast, cake responded similarly.
